Mining projects generally involve the extraction of minerals from the ground and separating the different minerals from each other. Mines are either open pit, underground, placer or in-situ depending on the location of the mineral deposits. The extracted ore is separated into constituent minerals at a processing plant either local to the mine or elsewhere.
